Village Gilo Ager finally has water!
The first of five Well of Hope water distribution points is completed!
The first one is near the village Gilo Ager, where we first met Tekle Beyene in October 2006. He was the village elder that dropped to the ground to kiss Sonya’s feet when she promised him that we would drill a water well for his village.
There will be four more water distribution points near other villages and one for the school which has 1600-1800 students from grade school to high school.
On October 13, Sonya will return to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, Africa, to meet treasurer Rhona Slingerland for the official dedication of the Well of Hope and to dedicate the water reservoir in memory of Mike Elinski, co-founder of the Well of Hope. It was Mike’s dream to return to Ethiopia to see the water flowing, but Mike lost his battle to cancer in March 2011.
